In the middle of a worsening humanitarian crisis in the Darfur area, three radio stations based along the Chad-Sudan border have been giving a voice to refugees, internally displaced and local populations, and delivering news critical to their survival as well as information and entertainment making life easier in these extreme circumstances.
Against the backdrop of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, an exhibition presenting the work of these radio stations is installed around a UNHCR tent in the Trocadéro Gardens in Paris, from the 8th to the 21st of December, 2008, and features:
• A selection of large photographs showing the work of the radio stations’ staff to inform refugees, displaced and local populations.
• Radio programmes produced by journalists and refugees.
• Videos showing the work conditions of the journalists and life in the camps.
• The possibility for visitors to leave written and audio messages of support inside the installation
