CNA) were recently received for talks in Brussels by key members of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Agency Executive Agency (EACEA).
These meetings took place during a 3-day study trip (June 11th - 14th), organized by Internews Europe as part of the ongoing project ’’Enhancement and development of the professional expertise of the Romanian audiovisual sector" for CNA in Romania.
Representing CNA in Brussels were Ioan Onisei, Gelu Trandafir, Gabriela Stoica and Petre Dinca, who exchanged views and information with their peers at the EU institutions. The talks were wide-ranging and productive. Items on the agenda included Romania’s regulatory system and the TV without Frontiers Directive.
Representing the EU institutions were Mr. Jean Eric De Cockborne, Head of Unit Audiovisual Policy, Directorate General for Education and Culture, Christophe Forax, Member of Commissioner Redding Cabinet, MEP Ruth Hieronymi and Gilbert Gascard and Costantin Daskalakis from the EACEA.
They shared their expertise in the audiovisual field and were eager to engage in follow-up discussions, to enable timely and effective implementation of new EU regulations for Romania’s growing media sector. In addition, CNA will benefit from the consolidation of an international network of contacts.
The CNA delegates were also warmly welcomed in Brussels by Giorgio Ficarelli, Head of the European Commission’s Representation in Bucharest.
The Brussels study-trip was the second in a series of three organised by Internews Europe, and follows recent similar visits to Paris and London.
