Radio News Saves Lives in Haiti

Internews, which was already active in a number of radio projects in Haiti before 12th of January 2010, was able to intervene immediately after the earthquake that put many stations off air and left the population without essential information struck.

Internews put back a number of stations in operation rapidly and started producing a programme to provide humanitarian information to the population in distress.

The daily programme “Enfomasyon nou dwe konnen” (“News you can use”) produced by Internews is now broadcast on 27 local radio stations and the six (nombre à verifier mais c’est le chiffre que j’avais avant) FM relays of Radio France Internationale www.rfi.fr on the island.
