Regional Media Support Programme in Russia Internews is organising a series of seminars providing training to Russian journalists to raise professional standards of journalism.

Media Management and Development Strategies:

  •  January 2007- 12 winners of the programme’s Business Plan Competition travel to London on an eight day study tour organised by project partners Stanhope Centre and Reuters Foundation. They meet management experts and visit the BBC, Sky TV, Reuters, the Guardian, the Oxford Times and others
  •  "Financial Management: increasing business profitability" seminar, Moscow, 27 - 28 February 2007
  •  Raising Awareness of Legal Issues within the Media and Developing a Media Specialty for Lawyers and Legal Experts. Three new Law Brochures are prepared for publication: "Media Participation in Election Campaigns", "Privacy and the Media", "Regulating Labour Relations in the Media"
  •  Professional Training "Multi-Skilled Journalist" seminar in Achinsk 25 - 28 January 2007
  •  Self-Regulation of the Regional Media Conference: "Information and Practical Guidance for Self-Regulatory and Media Accountability Organisations", 31 January 2007
  •  Cooperation between the Media and State Officials
  •  "Changing Places" seminar in Borisoglebsk, 29 - 30 January 2007
  •  "Changing Places" seminar in Surgut, 15 - 16 February 2007
  •  Support to the Project Partners’ Development in the Regions
  •  Seminar on "Client Relations" in January, participation in Media Self-Regulation conference.
