For most participants, this was their first journalism training and the first time that they had an opportunity to have a one-on-one encounter with the PLHIVs, which has enhanced their ability to approach PLHIV and to put “human face” on stories about the issue.

“This is my first journalism training ever. I didn’t expect there would be so many things to learn and I’m very impressed,” said Nguyen Chi Chu Shuong.

“We should give up the old way – beating around the bush, only talking but never dare to look directly at the truth. Sometimes, we talk about it for ten minutes but nobody understood what we wanted to say,” said Ngam a reporter from Son La TV-Radio station.
