Shannon England is the Vice President for Global Development and in this role oversees both public and private fundraising efforts for Internews. She has over 20 years of business development experience with a wide range of donors.

Prior to joining Internews, Ms. England was the Vice President for Strategic Development and Communications at Management Sciences for Health (MSH) where she oversaw MSH’s efforts in communications, knowledge exchange, policy and advocacy, private sector engagement, and resource mobilization. While there she helped the organization to diversify its funding base, raising over $34 million from new donors in support of MSH’s global health programs.

Ms. England also brings prior experience from Population Services International (PSI), where she worked as Director of Business Development for three years, meeting annual business development targets and helping PSI raise over $2 billion from a diverse base of donors to double its health impact in just five years. Ms. England also served in a variety of other technical and programmatic roles at PSI, including roles in program management and in the provision of public health technical assistance.

She has travelled extensively throughout Africa and Asia and has an MPH degree from the University of Michigan and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Ms. England is a former Peace Corps volunteer who served in Gabon, West Africa.
